Alfalfa Sprouts Linked to Growing Outbreak

Fifty-five people across 15 US states have fallen ill following the consumption of contaminated sprouts.

A widespread outbreak of Salmonella and E. coli infections has been linked to alfalfa sprouts, with the number of affected patients rising to 55. According to Food Safety News, the infections have now been reported across 15 different states.

Public health officials in Wisconsin and Minnesota first identified the issue. Despite the growing number of cases, the company involved has declined to issue a formal recall of the products.
