Indus Foods LLC, operating under the name Gangothri Foods, has issued a recall for 1,626 pounds of ready-to-eat pickled goat and chicken. The Austin-based company is removing the items from the market after it was discovered they were produced without required oversight.
According to Food Safety News, the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the move because the products were manufactured without the benefit of official inspection.
