Health officials in the United Kingdom are currently tracking three separate clusters of Salmonella Enteritidis. According to Food Safety News, these outbreaks have resulted in almost 500 infections since 2025, with two fatalities reported.
The investigation is being led by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). These bodies, alongside other public health authorities, are examining the genetic relatedness of the clusters to determine the source of the contamination.
